How to Solve Your Temporary Recruitment Problems Permanently
(Plus: English Only Temp Jobs and Multilingual Temp Jobs for candidates AVAILABLE NOW)
“Come in, come in, Chantelle. Take a seat. So good of you to join us.”
Chantelle, 19, is a temp (an unreliable one). Mr Prang, 64, is Chairman of Prang & Prophet Accident Claims in Fulham. They sit across from each other at Prang’s desk.
“Thanks, Mr Prang. I-”
“On behalf of everyone at Prang & Prophet, I’d just like to say how sorry we all are about the recent death of your Auntie Kat, Chantelle. Please let me offer our sincere condolences.”
“Thanks ever so much, Mr Prang. I’m touched.”
(A pause as Chantelle rummages in her handbag for a hanky. And then…)
“Do you believe in life after death, Chantelle? If you don’t mind me asking at this difficult time, that is.”
“Oh blimey, Mr Prang. Well, yeah, I suppose I do. I mean-”
“Splendid, Mr Prang?”
“Yes, splendid. Because after you rang in yesterday to tell us you would be unable to come into work as you had to attend your Auntie Kat’s funeral, she popped in to see you, to drop off your spare make-up mirror!”
“YOU’RE A BARE-FACED LYING, FRILLY-KNICKERED FLIMPING FULHAM FRAUD, CHANTELLE!”
“You what? You can’t say that! I’ve got rights, mate!”
“YOU’RE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN, GIRL! YOU’RE WORSE THAN THAT BEARDED BULGARIAN GIRL THEY SENT US LAST MONTH. THE ONE WHO THOUGHT A SPREADSHEET WAS SOMETHING PEOPLE TOOK CAMPING!”
Steady on, Prang, old chap. Chantelle’s only on unpaid work experience for the fortnight!
With Chantelle now hotfooting it to the Citizens Advice Bureau, Prang needs to find another temp, and fast. But where to find a reliable, highly-skilled temp at such short notice?
There is, of course, only one answer…
Appointments Bi-Language Temps Must Have ‘The Right Stuff’
All temps registered with Appointments Bi-Language have to pass a stringent registration process and meet a certain set of criteria before we even consider adding them to our database of talented professionals.
After pre-screening candidates over the phone, and before inviting them for a one-to-one interview with one of our experienced bi-lingual consultants, we carry out:
1. Passport checks
2. Working Holiday Visa checks and monitoring (candidates will only be registered if they are legally allowed to work and reside in the UK)
3. Reference checks (as well as validity of testimonials)
4. Criminal record checks, and
5. CCJ checks (when required)
Proficiency Tests for Temps
At interview, as well as asking candidates to complete skills tests (proficiency in speaking different languages, IT skills, numeracy, etc.), we look to see if the candidate is a motivated individual. We ask them about their relevant work experience to date, and about their long term aims.
