Commercial OEM automotive sales DIRECTOR
This role is based in Frankfurt in GERMANY. We are looking for Commercial Vehicles Sales Director to oversee the establishment and rapid growth of the fleet, truck and general commercial vehicles division of a major automotive manufacturer. This is lovely role and also a key appointment in that you will define and execute the long-term commercial strategy, drive market entry and expansion, and lead a team of Sales Managers to deliver strong revenue growth across the fleet and B2B segments. The role requires a current OEM background and solid experience in B2B fleet / commercial vehicle sales (trucks, LCVs or corporate fleet solutions). THE ROLE:
This is a key strategic appointment of a Commercial Vehicles Sales Director to oversee the establishment and rapid growth of the fleet, truck and general commercial vehicles division of a major automotive manufacturer.
This is an important leadership role in which you will be responsible for building and scaling a national commercial vehicle sales function in Germany. You will define and execute the long-term commercial strategy, drive market entry and expansion, and lead a team of Sales Managers to deliver strong revenue growth across the fleet and B2B segments.
You will operate at senior leadership level, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to overall business performance and strategic direction.
DUTIES:
Commercial & Strategic Leadership:
- Full ownership of commercial vehicle sales strategy and revenue growth across Germany
- Define and execute the national B2B and fleet go-to-market strategy
- Lead the market entry and expansion of the commercial vehicle business
- Deliver against ambitious revenue, growth and profitability targets
Management of Sales & Business Development Teams:
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing national sales team
- Manage and coach Sales Managers across Germany
- Set clear KPIs, performance targets and sales objectives
- Drive a strong new business culture across the team
Fleet & Key Account Development:
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with major fleet, leasing and logistics clients
- Lead high-value contract negotiations and framework agreements
- Expand business with existing fleet customers and secure new key accounts
- Oversee commercial structures including financing and service packages
Market Expertise:
- Use your expertise of the German commercial vehicle market (including fleet, logistics, e-mobility and regulatory environment) to identify and secure new business opportunities
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments
- Provide strategic input to product, marketing and senior leadership teams
REQUIREMENTS
- You must currently work for (or have worked within the last 3–5 years for) an automotive OEM (vehicle manufacturer)
- Proven experience at Head of Sales / Sales Director level within an OEM environment
- Strong experience in B2B fleet / commercial vehicle sales (trucks, LCVs or corporate fleet solutions)
- Strong understanding of the German commercial vehicle market, including fleet, logistics, leasing or mobility sectors
- Fluency in German and English
