We are seeking a Financial Accountant on behalf of a global tech business. The role has responsibility for the controllership and accounting function in support of the EMEA digital team. The accounting flows are operated in multiple legal entities with involvement of a number of stakeholders in different locations. In addition to the accounting and reporting responsibilities, the individual will actively participate in cross-border projects, drive process improvements initiatives and lead best practices on controllership on an international level.
Candidates for this position will have ideally worked for a big four public accounting firm or similar environment or have worked in a large public company. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate they were top performers at their level.
Responsibilities · Representing the EMEA Advertising Accounting team and actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders within the business, including technology and administrative team on business integration projects. · Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders. · Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. · Leading certain month end close activities, ensuring that relevant deadlines are met and looking for ways to continuously improve this process. · Identify and execute process improvements to simplify and standardise processes globally or automate through various accounting automation tools. · Direct responsibility for improving accounting processes and controls for a company with a high volume of transactions. · Actively participating in cross functional project launches from scoping through to testing and launch.
Requirements
Degree educated ideally in accounting/economics or finance
Holds a qualification of ACCA, ACA, and CIMA or similar credentials
Relevant accounting experience with 1 to 2 years post qualification experience and 4 to 5 years overall experience (public accounting /industry mix preferred)
Exposure to operational accounting concepts involving Revenue Recognition
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Solid organisational, project management skills, and information technology aptitude
The ideal candidates will be an experienced accounting professional who is passionate and excited about accounting with experience with the details of a monthly close cycle, periodic financial reporting, and related analytical analysis.
