Key Responsibilities
- As the Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, manage tariff classification, documentation accuracy and compliance for all imported vehicles and parts.
- The Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist maintains a robust, audit‑ready customs framework aligned with UK/EU regulations.
- Acting as the Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, liaise with HMRC, respond to audits and manage relationships with customs‑clearance agencies.
- Optimise clearance processes, maintain internal classification databases and ensure consistency across UK ports.
- Conduct internal risk assessments, compliance checks and process‑improvement audits.
- Monitor changes in trade policy and provide forward‑looking compliance guidance across departments.
- Collaborate with logistics, finance and commercial teams to support new‑product introductions and market expansion.
Requirements
- The ideal Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist has 5+ years’ experience in automotive customs and import operations.
- A successful Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist understands UK Customs Code, rules of origin and trade‑agreement structures.
- Strong capability in converting regulatory requirements into executable processes.
- Excellent communication, cross‑functional alignment and documentation accuracy.
- Degree in international trade, logistics, supply chain or related field.
- Must be London‑based and able to work 5 days on site.
