Chinese Speaking Paralegal
A reputable London law firm is seeking a versatile and ambitious Chinese Speaking Paralegal to support its expanding Residential Property, Commercial Property, and Corporate Law teams. You will work closely with experienced solicitors across multiple practice areas, gaining exposure to a wide range of transactions and high‑quality client work. Passing SQE1 is essential for this role, and candidates who have also passed SQE2 will be strongly preferred.
Job Title: Chinese Speaking Paralegal
Salary: up to £35,000
Location: London
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm
Language: English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
Key Responsibilities
- Residential conveyancing support — Assist with sales, purchases, reportages, transfers of equity, and leasehold matters
- Commercial property transactions — Support on commercial leases, licences, assignments, refinancing, and freehold/leasehold acquisitions
- Corporate law assistance — Help prepare corporate documents, manage due diligence, maintain company records, and assist with incorporations and shareholder matters
- Document drafting — Prepare, review, and organise contracts, reports, and transaction bundles
- Client & stakeholder communication — Liaise with clients, solicitors, lenders, agents, and third parties
- Case progression management — Track key milestones and ensure smooth progression of all matters
- Post‑completion work — Handle registrations, SDLT submissions, and file management
- Regulatory compliance — Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, and internal compliance procedures
- Team collaboration — Provide general support across departments during busy periods
Requirement
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 1+ year experience in residential conveyancing; commercial property or corporate law exposure is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the conveyancing process (both residential and commercial)
- Experience completing protocol forms and managing transaction stages
- Familiarity with corporate documents (e.g., resolutions, PSC registers, share transfers)
- Knowledge of AML and compliance procedures
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- SQE1 passed (required)
- SQE2 passed (highly advantageous)
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- SQE1 passed (mandatory) and SQE2 passed (strongly preferred), demonstrating commitment to professional development
