Accounts Assistant to provide general administration and accounting support within a busy Accounts Department. you will be responsible for the transactional finance duties including processing payments, performing VAT returns, completing bank reconciliations and processing cheques. You will be involved with the monitoring of staff expenses and processing/uploading invoices to the system etc.
Posting of bank payment transactions
Reconciliation of bank accounts
Monitor and reconcile direct debits payment amounts
Assist with preparation of journals for monthly accounts
Responsible for maintenance, processing and reconciliation of accruals and prepayment schedules
Assist with reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and resolution of queries
Intercompany account reconciliation
Analysis of variances to budget or previous month/ Year as required
Weekly Gross Profit Margin analysis and reporting * Maintain Lease costs schedule and reporting of same to Group * Support the submission of Quarterly and Annual reporting requirements to Group Company
General accounting and administration duties as necessary to support the Financial Officer and MD
Skills / Experience required
Proven work experience in a similar role working to deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, motivated and pro-active individual
Excellent Excel skills to Vlookup, Pivot Tables level, PowerPoint experience would be a benefit.
Ideally AAT or studying for an accounting qualification or those qualified by experience
