Chinese and Spanish Speaking Sales Consultant
This a 100% remote SPAIN REGIONAL SALES role for someone who is based in Spain. If you speak fluent SPANISH and CHINESE and love the freedom to be out of the office meeting potential restaurant owners and representatives of supermarkets, this is a wonderful role in which you will join a growing specialist food business that sells high-end Chinese foods into the UK, Europe and beyond. The role is very autonomous and you will be talking to (and visiting) existing and new customers (all are supermarkets, restaurants, caterers and retailers), attending food-events and developing new business as well as introducing customers to new CHINESE food flavours and products. ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is for a Sales Consultant responsible for developing and managing relationships with wholesalers, supermarkets, distributors, and restaurants across Spain.
While experience in the FMCG sector is highly desirable, it is not mandatory. We welcome applications from fresh graduates and professionals from other industries who demonstrate strong communication skills, a passion for client-facing sales environments, and excellent interpersonal abilities. Candidates with the right attitude and soft skills will also be a great fit for this position.
The position focuses on expanding market penetration, increasing product listings, and developing new business opportunities while supporting existing customers. This is an outside sales role, requiring regular visits to restaurants, suppliers, and retail partners.
The position offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to grow business relationships across the retail, foodservice, and distribution channels.
DUTIES
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify new business opportunities by researching prospects and evaluating their position within the industry.
- Develop new commercial relationships while maintaining and expanding existing accounts.
- Increase market penetration by promoting product adoption among restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, and supermarkets.
Account Management
- Manage relationships with restaurant groups, suppliers, wholesalers, and retail partners.
- Work closely with customers to expand product listings and increase SKU presence.
- Ensure strong customer engagement through regular visits and ongoing support.
Sales Growth & Product Placement
- Introduce new product lines to restaurants and support them in sourcing products through distributors.
- Increase product visibility and availability within supermarkets, wholesalers, and distribution channels.
- Monitor stock levels and collaborate with partners to minimise out-of-stock situations.
Customer Education & Product Promotion
- Educate customers on product applications and benefits through presentations, product demonstrations, and sampling.
- Support partners with promotional activities and product knowledge to drive sales.
Reporting & Market Insights
- Prepare regular sales and activity reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising key information.
- Provide insights on market trends, customer feedback, and new opportunities.
Industry Engagement
- Represent the business at regional trade shows, industry exhibitions, and networking events.
- Follow up on leads generated through events and market activities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and recommendations to customers.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Work Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of sales or marketing experience, preferably within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Experience working with retail, distribution, or foodservice channels is highly desirable.
Skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Good analytical ability with the capacity to interpret market and sales data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Languages
- Fluent Spanish and Chinese required.
- Write and speak with ease.
- English is desirable but not necessary.
Personal Competencies
- Self-motivated.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based sales role while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Other Requirements
- Permission to work in Germany.
- Full European driving licence (role involves regular driving).
