You will join a large-scale International E-Commerce business that is scaling up fast and is looking for an ambitious and talented Senior Legal Counsel – Product and Trade Compliance to help with their planned expansion. The company has four offices globally and is operating in more than 20 countries.

Responsibilities:
– Work with general counsel to maintain a sanction screening protocol and policy for the platform
– Develop and maintain a product compliance system to screen merchandise on the platform
– Develop and maintain trust & safety policies
– Monitor legal and policy development and advise the trust & safety team
– Identify, research, and evaluate alternative risk factors regarding business decisions and overall operations
– Apply effective risk management strategies and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
Key Requirements:
– have J.D. degree with 7+ years of legal practice, including in-house experience
– Extensive understanding of product compliance policies of various marketplaces and payment institutes
– Extensive understanding of trade compliance rules and policies
– Extensive understanding of federal and state laws and customs regulations on restricted products
