Are Recruitment Agencies regulated?
All recruitment agencies are regulated by various employment laws.
ABL Recruitment takes UK employment rules and regulations very seriously as these have helped us build trust with the hundreds of clients we have worked with over the past 30 years. Our agency is tightly regulated and complies with a series of statutory rules including the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. The Employment Agencies Standards Inspectorate (EAS) ensures we follow the provisions laid out in the Employment Agencies Act.
We are also part members of the Recruitment and Employment Federation (REC), the biggest membership body for recruitment agencies, which recognises us for our professionalism and the value we provide to clients and candidates. Members of the REC must follow the Code of Professional Practice and need to pass a compliance test every two years.
ABL Recruitment belongs to the Associate of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), a similar body to the REC – equally widely recognised- which has its own Code of Conduct. All member agencies are expected to agree to this before joining and must uphold the strict guidelines within the Code.
ABL is closely regulated by GDPR rules. To learn more about how we protect and use all the data we handle, please visit our Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy.
If you have any inquiries about how we or any other employment agencies are regulated, please contact us at info@ablrecruitment.com or click to visit the government website. If you have any complaints about a recruitment agency, contact the EAS on 0207 215 5000.
